Culinary history was made in February 2024 when Chishuru – a restaurant serving West African cuisine in London’s West End – was awarded a Michelin star. Nigerian-born Adejoké ‘Joké’ Bakare became the first black female chef in the UK to be recognised by the Michelin Guide.
