“This can’t be right,” I mutter to myself, driving on a seemingly endless stretch of road for too long. All I can see are sheep, cows, the occasional bit of roadkill –certainly nothing to indicate I’m en route to one of Australia’s best restaurants. I stop the car and, in the absence of any two-legged Birregurra locals to ask for directions, hope I can get a phone signal.
